Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, can develop after someone experiences or witnesses a traumatic event and subsequently suffers a range of negative symptoms including: flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, avoidance behaviors, depression, guilt, shame and irritability. These symptoms are particularly intractable and cause great psychologic harm to patients. For a very long time there were hardly any highly effective treatments for PTSD but thanks to medical advancement there are now a handful of highly effective treatments; most notably ketamine infusion therapy and EMDR therapy performed by a specially trained therapist.
The brave men and women of our armed forces are at a particularly high risk of developing PTSD. A recent study done by the VA reported that 70% of PTSD patients experienced a decrease in symptoms as measured by the PCL-5 ( a statistical survey used to diagnose PTSD).

Oftentimes PTSD can be confused with severe depression and anxiety. If you think you might be suffering from PTSD, Ketamine Center of Central Georgia can screen for this among other mood disorders.
