Ketamine Treatment Protocols & Pricing

Treatment Protocols & Pricing

Although Ketamine Center of Central Georgia is not currently in-network with any insurance providers,  we can help file an “out-of-network” benefits claim (via a "super bill") with your insurance company (after each infusion), and they may reimburse you (in accordance with your plan)  after you have pre-paid for treatment.

Reimbursement amounts will vary among insurance plans, and we are happy to perform a “benefit check” at your request. While your insurance may not cover the full amount of treatment, many of our patients have had success recouping some proportion of the cost.

Please see our Frequently Asked Questions section for more information.

New Patient Consultation

Prior to scheduling treatment, all new patients must have a consultation with Dr. Greenberg to determine if they are an appropriate candidate for ketamine therapy.

Initial Consultation:  Complimentary (approximately 30 minutes)

Dr. Greenberg is happy to see you either remotely via Zoom (as a “telemedicine” consultation) or in-person at our office, if desired.

A $50 "scheduling fee" is required to reserve your appointment, and will be applied toward your 1st ketamine infusion. If you are not deemed a suitable candidate for ketamine therapy, the full amount will be refunded to your card within 5-7 business days.

You can schedule your consultation here.

Treatment Protocols

Treatment protocols differ between mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders.

These treatment protocols are the ideal, based upon the best currently available medical/scientific evidence, but we understand that various factors might make it difficult to keep to them precisely.

Ultimately, we believe in tailoring treatment to respond to the individual needs of each patient.

Regarding payment, we are always happy to offer a 3% discount for payment with cash.

Protocol for Mental Health Conditions (depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc)

IV Ketamine Infusion Visit:  $365 (approximately 1 hour)

Initial “induction” infusion series – six IV ketamine infusions administered over the course of 3-6 weeks.

Payment for each infusion can be made at the time of treatment, or all 6 infusions can be paid at once for $2080 (a 5% discount).

Periodic “maintenance” (or “booster”) infusions may be necessary to sustain positive results. These are usually necessary no more than once every 1-3 months, and may be scheduled as needed.

Protocol for Chronic Pain Conditions (including fibromyalgia and CRPS):

The treatment protocol for chronic pain conditions is different because it requires higher doses of ketamine (though still significantly lower than required for anesthesia) and longer infusion times.  Our clinical experience as well as the available research shows that best results are obtained by using total infusion times of 4 to 8 hours or more.

  •  IV Ketamine “Pain” Infusion Visit: Each ketamine infusion block is 40 minutes long. The first 40 minute block is $365 and each additional 40 minute block is $225.

    • Based on the above pricing a 4 hour (or  240 minute) long infusion is:

      • First 40 minutes  - $365

      • Each  Additional 40 minutes @ $225 is $225*5 blocks = $1125

      • Total = $1490

We consider an initial “induction” infusion series for pain to be four IV ketamine infusions administered over the course of 1-4 weeks.

You may pay for each infusion at the time of treatment, or purchase a package of two or more infusions to receive a 5% discount (a savings of $75 on each infusion).

One “maintenance” (or “booster”) infusion is generally recommended 4 weeks after the initial series in order to sustain positive results.

Subsequent “booster” infusions may be scheduled as needed. It is important not to go too long without a booster infusion if your symptoms are returning or it is possible to lose the initial benefit accrued from the induction series.

Protocol for Migraine Headaches

As with other chronic pain conditions, the treatment protocol for migraine headaches is different because it requires higher doses of ketamine (though still significantly lower than required for anesthesia) and longer infusion times.

  •  IV Ketamine “Pain” Infusion Visit: Duration can vary from 40 minutes to 240 minutes or more. This first 40 minute block is $365 and each additional 40 minute block is $225.

 For example:

  • 120 minute Infusion - $815 (120 minute or 2 hours)

  • 240 minute infusion - $1490 (240 minutes or 4 hours)

One IV ketamine "pain" infusion, followed by a second “pain” infusion 4 weeks later.

You may pay for each infusion at the time of treatment, or purchase a package of two or more infusions to receive a 5% discount.

“Booster” infusions may be scheduled as needed.

At-home Ultra-low-dose Oral Ketamine Therapy:

At-home ketamine therapy uses very low oral doses of ketamine to treat mood disorders and chronic pain and, depending on patients’ needs, can sometimes be used on its own or in conjunction with in-office infusions.

When used as a standalone treatment for mental health, we recommend at least a 3-month course with required monthly check-ins with Dr. Greenberg.

Chronic pain patients often require long-term treatment, closely monitored on a monthly basis.

Monthly course of at-home ultra-low-dose oral ketamine therapy: $275

       3-month course of at-home ultra-low-dose oral ketamine therapy: $765 (a $60 discount)

Price is all-inclusive of compounded medication, shipping costs, office visits, and telemedicine appointments.
